Web Life, Work Experiences and Supporting the Next Generation with Lauren Woodward

Join us to hear Lauren's perspectives on web design from the company perspective, freelancing in the tech industry and the importance of community involvement.

Presentation, followed by Q&A will cover: 

  • Brand Side - best practices for front-end design + development such as agile development methodology + iterative development. Plus, what it's like to work as part of a development team within an IT department.
  • Freelancing - Lauren owns her own freelance business where she acts as project manager, developer and partners with designers to develop sites and provide general consulting services.
  • Community Involvement - building community through programming and empowering others to get into tech. Lauren is active in the Girl Develop It Philly Chapter, which "provides affordable and judgment-free opportunities for women interested in learning web and software development."

About the Speaker

Lauren Woodward is the Director of Web and Mobile Services at The Institutes in Malvern, PA. She also owns and run a consulting firm, Lauren Woodward Consulting LLC., and provides consulting services and web development services to select companies in the Philadelphia and New York areas.

Lauren is a local Philly native and MSIS graduate of Drexel University currently studying towards her PMP certification. She has been working in technology for over 10+ years in various industries including small business, higher education and corporate pharmaceutical.
